Job Description

The Permian Basin Regional Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse’s (PBRCADA) Region 9 Prevention Resource Center is seeking a Tobacco Prevention Specialist to coordinate and ensure retailers are in compliance with the Texas Tobacco Laws, conduct retailer education, aid in collecting data regarding tobacco, alcohol and other drugs and participate in other prevention activities at PBRCADA and the Region 9 Prevention Resource Center.

This position serves 30 counties in the Permian Basin. Must have knowledge of substance abuse prevention, MUST be goal oriented, MUST be organized, MUST be efficient in documentation and utilize excel, MUST be able to work individually and MUST have reliable transportation as this position requires heavy travel. A successful Tobacco Prevention Specialist assists in the development of minors and tobacco prevention strategies to include community education, retail merchant education, and community awareness in The Permian Basin and Concho Valley

Responsibilities and Duties: Day traveling throughout the Permian Basin. Regional travel about 30% - 60% of time.

Qualifications and Skills: Preferred applicants have an interest in substance abuse prevention and community wellness.
