Job Description

Bynum School is a faith-based, nonprofit, private day school that serves students who have special needs ages pre-school through adult. Students exhibit mild to severe cognitive and physical disabilities along with behaviors and abilities ranging across the autism spectrum.

Bynum School seeks energetic, dedicated, full-time teachers to provide appropriate educational experiences for students socially, emotionally, and cognitively. Teachers must be able to assess, plan lessons based on individual program plans, modify curriculum, document student progress, and implement a wide range of strategies to work with each individual need. Teachers must have working knowledge of disability categories and be able to provide services and support to all students. The ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with students, co workers, and parents is essential. Applicants must demonstrate motivation and commitment to serving all students in a safe and nurturing environment and effectively supervise teaching assistants.

Qualifications: Must be able to lift and have adequate mobility. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a teaching certificate in special education preferred. Experience in special education.
