Position: Director of Community Services
Reports to: Executive Director
Summary: Full time, Exempt, Salary DOE
The Director of Community Services develops, implements and supervises a robust community education program. Coordinates all community services programs, supervises staff and volunteer training. Must have ability to navigate successfully in high profile social settings. May act as agency spokesperson if the Executive Director is not available. This position is full-time, exempt, and salary is dependent on experience.
Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in education, public administration, business or social service field is required. Demonstrated ability to supervise, delegate, and provide leadership to professional, paraprofessional and volunteer staff.
Job requirements include:
•Develop educational programs using evidence-based curricula. Market and teach these programs throughout our 9 county service area.
•Train and supervise Community Service Managers ensuring excellence in presentation skills.
•Demonstrated experience showcasing excellent judgment and initiative, strategic thinking, an entrepreneurial approach, a proven and healthy work ethic, a collaborative work style, and the confidence and strength to inspire colleagues, staff and volunteers to get tasks accomplished.
•Manage awareness events for the agency. These include Sexual Assault Awareness, Bullying Prevention, Domestic Violence Awareness, and Teen Dating Violence Awareness Months, among others.
•Lead community-based classes in Domestic Violence 101, Healthy Relationships, Bullying Prevention, Safe Dating and WHO, Male Involvement and others.
•Excellent English written communication skills, with demonstrated clarity and accuracy in writing, grammar, and punctuation.
•Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft programs and PowerPoint.
•Familiarity with interactive website design/maintenance, the Internet and social media.
•Ability to understand budgeting requirements and budgetary implications for programming.
•Must have a strong desire to work for an organization dealing with issues unique to domestic violence and sexual assault.
•Demonstrated ability to work with an Executive Director and leadership team to develop and implement the vision and future direction of the Agency.
•Excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively, professionally and tactfully in a team setting, including the ability to work cooperatively with other staff, Board of Director members, staff from outside organizations and agencies, and members of the community.
•Demonstrated ability to organize time & prioritize workload to complete work on time.
•Be knowledgeable of policies and follow them.
•Recruit, train, schedule and coordinate the agency community volunteers and volunteers completing community service hours.
•Maintain volunteer rosters and hours for those working in community service department
•Obtain and retain certification in BIPP and facilitate sessions as needed.
•Maintain regular contact with volunteers, holding an appreciation event 1-2 times per year.
•Along with the Director of Client Services, teach the OAG sexual assault certification course for staff and agency volunteers, ensuring that all with direct client contact have completed the training satisfactorily within 6 months of hire.
•Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, function in stressful situations, and be cooperative and dependable under stress.
•Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities, along with the ability to easily and readily adapt to the changing needs of the department.
•Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment.
•An ability to work with all victims of sexual assault and domestic violence without bias or prejudice regarding prostitution, drug abuse, abortion, use of alcohol, difference in abilities, sexual orientation, age, race, color, creed, or religious affiliation.
•Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
